Tokens - September 4th

Last day of summer vacation, Michael is on his way to first grade tomorrow and Jacob will be starting his last year of pre-school.

All in all it was a great day; we packed a big lunch and walked to the park that is a half mile from our house. We spent a good hour there, hit the convenience store for a treat and headed back home. It was a fun three hours and my primary goal was to wear Micheal down  to nothing so the ants in his pants would settle for his first day of school. Here's hoping it worked.

After we got back, Michael spent 10 tokens on some Wii time to play Lego Star Wars, and then I put the sprinkler out and let the kids have at it, probably not too many more opportunities this year for that.

Around four we settled in and did some schoolwork for both; Michael read four reading sheets to me (did great) and wrote two sentences, something about Darth Sidius and Obi Won. Handwriting is getting better, but is not as advanced as his reading yet. For Jacob we worked on letter recognition and a little addition, tried doing some multiple choice questions and he did awesome!

By the end of the day Michael had 3 tokens (spent 10, lost 2 and earned 6), Jacob had 6 tokens (spent 0, lost 5 and earned 4). Jacob rarely goes backwards but we had a small fight today.

For our talk tonight we went over what days we can buy things with our tokens and what do to in case of a fire (which of course got Michael going over every scenario in his head).

Hoping for a great first day tomorrow.
